Here are just of few of the new music releases available this month.
If you have heard the Steve Pettit team, you know they play a lot of "Appalachian folk style" christian music. Well, here are a few of the "fun" tunes they play at camps, and after the service when no one is listening! I am glad they finally took the time to record some of these old "bluegrass" and "mountain" music songs. Maybe they will be at the Ozark Folk Center next summer! (just kidding) You can listen to 90 second sampling of each tune at www.oldchristianradio.com

New CD and Choral Book from Ron and Shelly Hamilton and Majesty Music.
The ten new compositions in "Sing A New Song" will not remain new for very long. Both your choir and congregation will be singing them over and over again as the beautiful melodies carry the powerful messages of the Bible-based lyrics. Also included in "Sing A New Song" is a new Easter musical, "He Is Risen Indeed." Five of the songs from the choral book are used along with simple script to tell the story of old Mrs. Pepper. A cheerful saint, she discounts her own ability to serve her Lord, even as she inspires everyone around her. For more info go to www.majestymusic.com
Songs include:
1. Welcome the King
2. I Will Go
3. Alive
4. My Creed
5. Here Is Love
6. Only Jesus Saves
7. Let Mount Zion Rejoice
The White Sisters
Remember these ladies? I know we used the publications of the White Sisters Ladies Trio books at our church from the 1960's to the 1990's. Our copies are definitely collector's items. This CD is actually two recordings in one, original music released in 1962 and 1963. If you want to hear them, go to oldchristianradio.com.
These are the ORIGINAL "White Sisters" from the Late 1950's to the mid-1960's. In my opinion, the overall quality of this recording is EXCELLENT.
NOTE:
"Brighten The Corner" -- Previously on Word WST-8014-LP(1962)
"Especially For You" -- Previously on Word WST-8089-LP(1963)
Shelly Hamilton has just published a new piano arrangement book with 18 songs and this is the listening CD, "How Can I Fear" - Songs include
1. Wings as Eagles
2. How Can I Fear
3. Amazing Grace
4. He Lives
5. Sweet Hour of Prayer and more!!
I have not heard this one yet, but Shelly has a gift for arranging. Many, if not most, of the choral arrangements from Majesty are done by Shelly. What a great combination, her husband Ron Hamilton writes most of the songs (see Patch the Pirate CD below) and his wife, Shelly, arranges them into choir or instrumentals. God has used this family to minister to all Christian homes with good, godly music for children and adults for the last three decades. For more info go to www.majestymusic.com
Of course, if you have kids, you will want to check out the new Patch CD, "Shipwrecked on Pleasure Island." This is about the 25th in the series, started in the late 1970's by the Hamiltons and the Garlocks.
If Captain Patch and his crew have to be stranded for a time while they repair the Jolly Roger, what better place to be than Pleasure Island? Coco, Poco, and Loco are the friendliest hosts, and they have all the lemonade and chocolate your tummy can hold. Best of all are the mountain-tall water slide and the giant human sling shots! Perhaps it does seem a little strange that the beds are all in cages and that things keep turning up missing from the ship—and what is that strange looking ship sailing around the other side of the island? If the crew is to escape in time, they will have to count on Sissy Seagull’s wits, and the power of the Lord. Songs included: One Little Sparrow • Lay Up Your Treasure • Food Fight • O-B-E-Y • Candy Time • God’s Night Light • Twenty-Four/Seven • Only Two Choices
