tribute to Chipper Jones

The Braves paid tribute to retiring Chipper Jones at Turner Field tonight.  We've been watching Chipper ever since he was a high school player in Jacksonville, Florida.  He enjoyed a long career with the Braves, his only MLB team, which is very unusual these days.  Pictured above with Chipper is retired manager Bobby Cox and Hall of Famer Hank Aaron.  Wish we could have been there for this!

USA TODAY posted an interactive map showing all the "religious affiliations" in the United States. It is very interesting and easy to use, as you just scroll over your state to see how many claim to be "Evangelical Prostestants" or "Mainline Protestants" or "Catholics", "Jewish", "Muslim", etc. The Pew Research Council provided these stats. I assume Baptists are counted as "evangelical protestants".

One of the few Christians in the entertainment business is Kirk Cameron.  He is involved in many projects now, most of them are Christian films and seminars for couples.  He starred in "FIREPROOF" and just released a new documentary "MONUMENTAL" .  I found his website at this link.

Jeff Francoeur was a graduate of a local high school here in Gwinnett County, GA and we became big fans of his when he was playing for the Braves.  I am still disappointed that he left the Braves, but life goes on.  Recently "SPORTS SPECTRUM" aired an interview with Nascar driver Michael McDowell and Kansas City Royal Jeff Francoeur  - you can listen at this link to TRUSTING GOD THROUGH DESPERATE TIMES
