Video: "His Robes For Mine" Project: 10 Men in concert

This is one of the newest hymns published by Churchworks Media - see text written by Chris Anderson below -  this video posted by Soundforth of the Dan Forrest arrangement and performed by the mens ensemble called "Project 10".  We love to use this at church for choir and also for the congregation sometimes. The music in hymn format is available free at Churchworksmedia.com.
His Robes for Mine
TEXT (by Chris Anderson)
His robes for mine: O wonderful exchange!
Clothed in my sin, Christ suffered ‘neath God’s rage.
Draped in His righteousness, I’m justified.
In Christ I live, for in my place He died.
Chorus:
I cling to Christ, and marvel at the cost:
Jesus forsaken, God estranged from God.
Bought by such love, my life is not my own.
My praise-my all-shall be for Christ alone.
His robes for mine: what cause have I for dread?
God’s daunting Law Christ mastered in my stead.
Faultless I stand with righteous works not mine,
Saved by my Lord’s vicarious death and life.
His robes for mine: God’s justice is appeased.
Jesus is crushed, and thus the Father’s pleased.
Christ drank God’s wrath on sin, then cried “‘Tis done!”
Sin’s wage is paid; propitiation won.
His robes for mine: such anguish none can know.
Christ, God’s beloved, condemned as though His foe.
He, as though I, accursed and left alone;
I, as though He, embraced and welcomed home!

"Survivor, part 2" - a must read from the web

A link to the second article was published by the AJC.com.  "Survivor, part 2" continues the story of how Ilse Eichner was able to escape from the concentration camp's death march and made it to the border.  A very emotional story and a miracle that she survived.  The article serves as a reminder to all as to what evil men can do when no one stops them.
Click to read part 2 at this link to AJC.com
As the war came to a close three months later, Ilse and other prisoners were forced to leave the Auschwitz satellite work camp in a death march designed to kill as many Jews as possible before Allies could find and liberate them. After the third day, Ilse escaped and eventually staggered toward the Czech border, where she collapsed. When she awoke, she was in a Red Cross van on her way to a hospital in Prague.

"Survivor, part 1" - a must read from the web

The Atlanta newspaper published recently the story of a local woman who actually survived the Holocaust.  This is an amazing, moving story and of course reminds me of the story of Anne Frank except Anne did not survive.   Ilse Eichner was one of 15000 Jewish children sent to the Terezin concentration camp and she was one of only 132 known to survive.
You can read the story on the web at ajcnews.com
The Survivor, Part 1 begins:

During World War II, Hitler’s army ordered a young Jewish girl named Ilse Eichner Reiner to the Terezin concentration camp near Prague before transferring her to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Of the 15,000 children sent to Terezin, Reiner is one of only 132 known to have survived. Today, Reiner lives in Sandy Springs near her daughter. This is her journey.

Duke No. 1 for the fifth week this year!

Duke is back on top of the brackets after one week in 3rd place.  With a little help from losses by no. 1 and no. 2 - Louisville and Indiana - and after a convincing win over ACC opponent Georgia Tech on Thursday night.   The next test comes this Wednesday night when they travel to Florida to play the University of Miami.  Miami has a good team and is currently in first place in the ACC.  Hoping the Dukies can change that with another good win on the road.

Highlights from last week can be found with these links:

Georgia Tech falls to no. 3 Duke - The local paper does not publish many articles after a Duke game, but this week a local team lost to the Blue Devils - the Georgia Tech's coach was quoted in the AJC -  “Those young guys got a little baptism under fire today, but I thought they responded pretty well,” Coach Gregory said.

Duke.edu posted the AP news story about the win titled "Curry, No. 3 Duke Top Georgia Tech".
the article begins "No. 3 Duke figured the best way to win without Ryan Kelly was to play to its other strengths. That meant Seth Curry hitting from long range and Mason Plumlee converting from much closer."

Duke also posts a review of quotes made by the players and coaches after the game at this linkDuke came out of the half time playing like they should be playing, just have to wonder what Coach K said to light their spark!  A unique thing happened in this game, just after the 2nd half began and the first time out was called by Ga Tech, Coach K ran out to greet Mason Plumlee and jumped into his arms. I have never seen Coach K get so excited but Mason was definitely a different player after their half time chat.  Read more at "The Hug Heard 'Round the World"
It was something to see!

Kirk Cameron, star of the Christian movie "Fireproof" gave his testimony and spoke last fall at Liberty. He calls himself a "recovering atheist" - he was an atheist growing up and as a young star on "Growing Pains" on TV. His girlfriend influenced his life greatly and he tells how he accepted Christ and how it has changed his life!
