A very, very interesting site devoted to the beauty of waterfalls can be found at SCwaterfalls.com. Even though I grew up in South Carolina, I never knew there were so many waterfalls that you could visit in the Carolinas.
Another interesting blog is a compilation of google map "mashups" from around the world. This site is found at googlemapsmania.blogspot.com. On the right sidebar are links to the "top picks" and "current events" such as fastfoodmaps.com. Not sure what you would do with all of this info, but it is a fun site to search.
