Click link to view my first photo slideshow from our vacation in WI (June 2009) - Still working on the photos but I thought I would start with some candids of the girls: Natalie (5) Meredith (2 1/2) Brielle (2 1/2) and Sophie (14 months)
My wife and I have three sons and "daughters" and 16 grandchildren! "And this we know in our journey of life, whether green rolling hills or the desert bare and dry; in all things God works for our good, for those who love the Lord."

police "lawn enforcement"
My coworker emailed this picture to me after I shared with him my surprise Tuesday night upon returning from vacation. The "Quality of Life Unit" of the police dept. left a notice of violation on my door as our grass was "too tall" and the lawn must be "maintained." So it is against the law to go on vacation and "not" keep your grass cut now. Good thing it did not rain much while we were gone. The notice was left on our door Saturday, June 20th, and we had until Thursday, June 25th, to comply. Cindy cut the grass for me on Weds morning since I had to work, and sure enough on Thursday morning the police car stopped at our mailbox for about 10 minutes - I guess to file the report that our grass was cut!

Slideshow - IBBI Mission trip to Dominican Republic
Several men from our church at Berean Baptist in Lilburn, Ga, participated in this mission trip to the Dominican Republic with IBBI (Independent Baptist Builders International, Inc.) IBBI leads mission trips of volunteers to do evangelism and church building on the foreign fields. One of those who went on the trip from our church - John (jidphotography) - posted this slideshow of pictures from the March 2009 trip on his YouTube channel.

family photo Sunday
I enjoyed Father's Day with my sons and their families. Our "male quartet" sang "Redeeming Grace" in the morning service at Bible Baptist Church in Beaver Dam, WI. In the PM service, the rest of the family joined us to sing "My Faith Still Clings to Thee." Both songs are James Koerts arrangements and published by the Wilds Music. a special person now in Heaven - Dr. J.R.Faulkner
Many knew Dr. J.R.Faulkner as the "right hand man" of Dr. Lee Roberson, but he was a special person to us because he performed our wedding 32 years ago in the chapel of Highland Park Baptist Church, June 04, 1977. So we are sad to hear that he passed away at 95 years of age, but we praise the Lord that he is in a better place now. What an honor to know him! Our wedding had to be changed from Pine Bluff to Chattanooga at the last minute, and Dr. Faulkner was so gracious to perform our ceremony on such a short notice.

yard work pays off
I guess all that yard work paid off! Recently I heard someone talking as if they were at my front door, and when I looked out the window, there were a group of students in our front yard stretching and taking a brake from their "run" back down the hill. I noticed them when they ran up the hill, but was surprised to see them in our yard. I suppose this was an ROTC group from the local high school, so I took a pictures because no one would have believed me if I didn't.

catching up with the bears
Remember the photo of the bear in the backseat of my car a couple years ago?(Click link to "Seeing is Believing")
Well,I found them placed in the front yard of Paula, our former neighbor, last week in Florida. She now has a nice sitting bench out of the two bears.
