one of my favorite memories, going to Cloudland Canyon with my future wife!
While dating in college , we loved to travel to Cloudland Canyon
on a Saturday to enjoy the view and to hike.
The state park in GA was only about 30 minutes from campus.
So we are heading back to the park this week
to make some new memories
and to celebrate our 42 years of marriage.

A sad day for Toccoa Falls College, this occurred during the Fall of 1977. I was in my first year of teaching in Florida, and one of my students had a family member attending this college. So I remember this day , this tragedy. The campus is beautiful today.

Spring Home Project no.4
We have needed new gutters for years, but the last quote we had been given was about $5000.00.Way too much money! So I used homeadvisor.com to find Jordan from Elite Gutters and we were able to get new gutters and new gutter covers, bronze color for a very reasonable cost. Very pleased with the new look !
$1350.00 for guttters

Spring Home Project no.3
Well overdue, this fence went down during the hurricane that passed through Atlanta a year and a half ago... if i had known it would be so inexpensive , we would have done this sooner! At least the neighbors dogs will stay in their yard now. D & R Fence did a great job! And thankfully the city of Lawrenceville picked up all the scrap lumber by the driveway this week! Whew!

Spring Home Project no.2
Have you ever put off doing work around the home , and then once it is completed you think to yourself, "Now why did I not do this sooner?" That is the way I feel after having our house soft washed cleaned, the driveway cleaned and the back deck and picnic table by Squeaky Clean Exteriors last week. The house looks so good we may not have to paint as soon as I thought we would.

Spring Home Project no. 1
I will be posting pictures of some projects around the home this year. Some of these needed to be done before now, but we ended up having them done around the same time. Spring seems to be the perfect time of the year for these kinds of projects anyway.
Project no.1:
First priority was finding someone to take down two trees that were in our front yard. One of them was a notorious sweet gum tree. We hate the sticky balls that fall in the yard each year, and I am sure our neighbor does too. After discussing prices with a couple of tree services, we found that both were quoting the same pricing to remove two trees at the same time. The tree service we chose to use had done work for us two times before in the past ten years, so we decided to use them again.

His 93rd birthday would have been today but he is in Heaven -
a much better place!
He loved God and his church and his family and was proud of his service to our country in WW II. He joined the Navy in 1944 and always told the story that the Japanese heard he was coming and surrendered ! Ha HA
