My wife and I have three sons and "daughters" and 16 grandchildren! "And this we know in our journey of life, whether green rolling hills or the desert bare and dry; in all things God works for our good, for those who love the Lord."

Video - Pickett's Charge commemorative walk on July 3rd
Another video from the commemorative walk for Pickett's Charge on July 3rd. As I approached the battle line, the fence, I turned around and saw the Maryland infantry (and tourists) approaching. (the distracting sound of sirens was an actual police chase in progress)

East Cavalry Field battle re-enactment
The Union Cavalry (led by Gen. George Custer) and the Confederate Cavalry (led by Gen. Jeb Stuart) met for battle at what is called East Cavalry Field outside of Gettysburg. This battle took place while the other battles were occurring in Gettysburg. The re-enactment pictured above took place Saturday July 6, 2013. The Union Cavalry included the 7th Michigan and 1st Michigan and Gen. Custer would lead the men shouting "Come on, you wolverines!" Gen. Custer was only 23 years old when he took over as Brig. Commander at Gettysburg. He would survive the war but later meet his end in 1876 fighting the Sioux Indians at the Battle of Little Big Horn.
