Family birthdays for the week of Apri 30th - May 6th

We celebrate six birthdays this week - 4 "Franklin" family birthdays, 1 "Baggett" family, and 1 birthday with roots in both the Franklins and Baggetts (Natalie).

Ben Arthur, my sister's son, celebrates his 26th birthday on Monday, April 30th. Ben is pictured with Chelsea and their daughter Payton.  Hope you have a great day! 

My cousin Dianne Pettit celebrates another birthday this week on Tuesday, May 1st.  Dianne is at far right in this picture with three of her four children and their families  - nice family picture!   Hope you have a wonderful day! 

 Our oldest grand girl turns 8 this year - on Weds, May 2nd.  Natalie Marie is pictured at right - the picture was taken at the children's museum in Chattanooga.   We hope you have a great day and sorry that we cannot be there this year for the big day!   We love you!   

Doug Alexander (with his wife Kim) will be celebrating another birthday on Thursday, May 3rd. Kim is Cindy's niece (Sam's daughter).  Hope you have a wonderful day!

My cousin Gloria Dorman Walker also celebrates her birthday on Friday, May 4th.  Gloria is pictured at right between her two sisters, Dianne and Barabara. Hope you have a great day!

There were no birthdays last week on either side of the family, but we continue on this week with four birthdays, April 23rd - 29th: Two "Baggett" family birthdays and two "Franklin" family birthdays.

Charity Brown celebrates another birthday on Monday, April 23rd.  Charity is married to my cousin Jeff Brown and is pictured with their two daughters, Nyah and Neeley.

Roxanna (Roxy) Baggett celebrates another birthday on Saturday, April 28th. Roxy is married to Cindy's Uncle Kelsea Baggett (beautiful picture at left).  Hope you have a great day! 

Matthew (Monk) Franks will be celebrating his 37th birthday on Sunday, April 29th. Matthew is pictured with his wife and kids and yes, that is Cindy on the left, and his sister Mary Ann Franks on the right. Cindy ran into them at the Little Rock airport a couple years ago!  Matthew's Dad (Uncle Bo) was the sister of Cindy's Mam-ma (Mildred) Baggett.  Hope you have a great day!




Kaitlin Arthur turns 5 on Sunday, April 29th.  Kaitlin  is the daughter of my 2nd cousin Kimberly (and Paul) Arthur and the granddaughter of cousin Gloria Dorman Walker.  Hope you have a great day celebrating!

Documentary Focuses on the Faith of America's founders

Kirk Cameron is taking the heat from Hollywood and main stream media because of his Christian faith.  He produced and is releasing a documentary this week titled "Monumental".  Kirk was a TV star on "Growing Pains" when he was a teen, and he was not a Christian at that time.  He was advised by his "TV dad" Alan Thicke to leave Hollywood when he became a Christian and pretty much did just that.  He is now known for starring in several Christian movies such as the "Left Behind" series and "Fireproof".  I read a very good article today about Kirk and his documentary, and thought more people would like read it, so I am posting the link below.

"With 'Monumental' Kirl Cameron Emerges as Activist"

"When you look at those documents it becomes incredibly clear there has been a lot of cherry picking of the evidence done to support a very particular worldview, and that's the worldview our children are learning in school and it's not the full and complete historical record because it doesn't reflect the faith of our Founding Fathers," the actor said.

Family birthdays are posted each week - for those in the Baggett and Franklin clans who have a birthday Monday - Sunday.  For the week of April 9th - 15th we have four birthdays to celebrate:  Colby Blackstock (Baggett family); Deborah Logan (Franklin family); Haley Grace Franklin (also a Baggett family member); and Joel Blackstock (Baggett family)

 Colby Blackstock (in the middle of his two brothers Bradley and Dustin) will be celebrating his 22nd birthday on Monday, April 9th.  Colby is the son of Cindy's cousin Mike (and Susan) Blackstock and the grandson of Aunt Robbie.  Hope you have a great day! 

My sister, Deborah (Debbie) Logan, will be celebrating another birthday this week on Thursday, April 12th.  Debbie is pictured with her daughter April .  Hope you have a wonderful day! 

 Our granddaughter Haley Grace Elisabeth turns ONE this week on Friday, April 13th.  Haley Grace is the daughter of our youngest son Brandon (and Rachel) Franklin.  She is also the great-granddaughter of my parents Gene and Martha Franklin and of Cindy's mother Winnie Baggett.  Hope you have a fun-tastic day!

Joel Blackstock celebrates another birthday (#75) on Sunday, April 15th.  Joel is married to Cindy's Aunt Robbie and the picture was taken at the the reunion last August.  Hope you have a great day!

Face the Cross

A very moving EASTER song, "Face the Cross" - by our church choir at Berean Baptist in Lilburn. We actually presented the program in the Fall of 2010 and the rest of the drama and songs were built around this theme. Brandon and Rachel's church will be presenting the same program this Sunday at Victory Baptist in Jacksonville.

Six birthdays to celebrate between the Baggetts and Franklins this week!   

Our granddaughter Sophia Martha turns 4 on April 2nd - pictured at left with her mommy. Sophie. as we call her, is the daughter of Stephen (and Leah) Franklin, so she gets to celebrate being a Franklin and a Baggett :)  Hope you have a great day! 

Preston Pettit also celebrates another birthday on Monday, April 2nd.  Preston is the youngest son of my cousin Dianne Pettit. He is pictured at right with his wife Christy from their trip to NYC last summer.

Dustin Blackstock turns 20 on Friday, May 6th.  Dustin is pictured below in the middle of his two brothers, Colby and Bradley.  He is the son of Cindy's cousin Mike (and Susan) and the grandson of Aunt Robbie and Uncle Joel Blackstock.  Hope you have a great day!   

  

Andrew Pettit will be turning 17 this week on Friday April 6th.  Pictured above in a recent photo with his dad, Ray Pettit, Jr. Andrew is the grandson of my cousin Dianne Pettit.  Hope you have a wonderful birthday!
