There are three birthdays in the Baggett and Franklin families today, including my wife Cindy and nephew Philip Logan and Cindy's nephew's wife, Catie Baggett!



Happy Birthday to Philip Logan. Seems I can not find a picture without his guitar :) so I used this one from a couple years ago. Philip will be graduating from Stetson Univ. this spring.

Franklin Family Connection: Philip is the son of my sister Deborah Franklin Logan: Debbie is the daughter of Gene Franklin: the son of Charles C. and Mattie Belle Keeter Franklin of Clifton, SC.

No. 3 Duke vs. Boston College

The Dukies hosted Boston College last night and the game was close until the last 10 minutes. Then Duke went on a run and ended the night with a nice win (84-68) and boosted their record to 19-1. This night it was Seth Curry's turn to shine as he scored a season high 20 points. Tim Brando, announcing the game on the ACC network, commented that Seth was "playing like he was back at Liberty playing horse." Seth Curry was a freshman at Liberty but transferred to Duke and sat out a year so he could play for Coach K. Click here to read the recap

Duke over Wake Forest

As I predicted, Duke had a nice road win at Wake Forest on Saturday. This time it was Ryan Kelly's turn to shine, hitting all six 3-pt shots and ending with 20 points for the game. Kyle Singler added 24 points to lead the Dukies in a rout over the Deacons, 83-59. Duke also moved back up in both polls today to the no. 3 spot. My sisters and I do not always get to be together at the Christmas Eve reunion at cousin Judy's home , so I took the opportunity to have our picture taken with mom and dad this year.

Duke update

The Dukies head to Winston Salem, NC today to face a Wake Forest team that is 0-4 in ACC conference play, so I expect today's game to be a blowout. Maybe I'll be surprised, but since Duke lost it's first game of the season to FSU, they have beaten Maryland and NC State. The game is on ESPN at 4 PM today. Duke dropped from 1st place to #4 in the AP this week after losing to FSU on the road.

No More Night - Berean Baptist Church Choir

Chris Jones posted this choir number from church on youtube - she developed the powerpoint presentation that was displayed on the screen as we sang this number. I love this song as it reminds us of our hope in Heaven, and this is one of my favorite arrangements by Camp Kirkland.

Brandon, Rachel and Charlie enjoyed playing in our 5 inches of snow today. Usually the snow melts the next day, but with temps below freezing, it will be staying with us for a few more days.
